Mandela: I am prepared to die

from Àse (Original Soundtrack) by Javier Rodriguez

/

about

A piano tribute to Nelson Mandela, including the end of his speech "I am prepared to die" given by Nelson Mandela on 20 April 1964 from the dock of the defendant at the Rivonia Trial. It is considered one of the great speeches of the 20th century, and, unfortunately, the meaning of his words still continues to have a lot of sense in the 21st Century.

lyrics

"I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for. It is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”
